British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
