Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of claims about questionable actions directed at women.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
