The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her remaining competitions this season as a result of a medical condition that has affected her for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
