FC Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
