Liverpool's Star Extends Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
