Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
